February 24, 2008If you find yourself in the last leg of your triathlon, pounding the pavement with labored breathing, and need a bit of inspiration to finish out; consider the actions of one man willing to literally go the extra mile for his son. 65-year-old Dick Hoyt ferries, pulls and pushes his 45-year-old, wheel-chair bound son across finish lines–the nation over–an exhausting number of times per year. “Can” is forever championed here.
of your play
January 26, 2008Despite the web comic, Penny Arcade, being rather trite and juvenile (and more often than not, completely unfunny); the two guys behind it are some incredibly standup gentlemen. Back in 2003, Gabe – in reaction to a “last straw” of video-game bashing – posted an open letter declaring the creation of Child’s Play (an effort between gamers and children’s hospitals across the world). Press Start to give.
of your edition
January 25, 2008Monopoly is one of those classic games that will always be around. Always. Back in 2005, a variant of the hours-long family board game came about whereby popular locations of a given country were voted on to adorn the board (Monopoly Here and Now). Today, you can vote on the latest version for the whole world. Traveling the world in about 2 hours and 45 minutes.
of your sailing
January 16, 2008There’s no vacation experience quite like a cruise – whether to some island paradise or South American hide-away. And there are quite a few lines to choose from. However, the boats aren’t that interesting and really only serve as the mode of transportation. Windstar Cruises, on the other hand, offer both incredible locales to tour as well as one of the most romantic and impressive boats worth coming back to port for. Set sail on the wide blue yonder.

of your philosophy
April 11, 2008Carnegie Mellon University professor Randy Pausch gave his “Last Lecture” titled “Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams” on September 18, 2007 after being informed that his surgically removed pancreatic cancer had metastasized to his liver and spleen. This incredible man’s philosophy on living your life, and ultimately to just have fun, is well worth the hour and a half of your time. Dream a little dream.
