Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games (MMORPGs) follow a rather specific formula: create character, pick a “job” and level up in 3D world. Maple Story, on the other hand combines the escapism of role-play and the classic action of the 2D side-scroller. It’s the never ending coin-op arcade of awesome.

Online photo albums can hold some of the most fantastic moments frozen in time for all to see. However, the display of those photos can be so cumbersome in it’s presentation, let alone the management of the album, that the images, themselves, lose much of their luster. Todd Dominey’s incredibly helpful bit of software for Flash and Lightroom makes creating and managing photo albums a virtual snap. Presentation is fantastically customizable and all this for a mere $25 (for the Flash version). Your vacation slideshow never looked so good.

Carnegie Mellon University professor Randy Pausch gave his “Last Lecture” titled “Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams” on September 18, 2007 after being informed that his surgically removed pancreatic cancer had metastasized to his liver and spleen. The above, extreme-version image was taken (5 exposures) and composited by “mapgoblin.” The technique is epitomized in a New York City skyline photo taken by Paulo Barcellos Jr. Say “Cheese.” Say “Cheese.” Say “Cheese.” Say “Cheese.” Say “Cheese.” …

twhirl

Twitter has become one of the most built-upon web apps to come along in some time. Just about everyone is coding something to enhance, communicate with or otherwise “make awesome” Twitter. And twhirl is the next contender to sprout up; utilizing the Adobe AIR platform (of your platform) to power this desktop client. Give it a whirl, won’t you?
