of your climb

June 27, 2008

At the age of 12, Alain Robert scaled 8 floors to enter a window into his home after forgetting his keys. A top ranked solo-climber, Robert climbed his first skyscraper in Chicago in 1994. Collecting money for charity with each climb; “Spiderman” (as he is known) has scaled some of the tallest buildings in the world (like the twin towers in Kuala Lumpar). Don’t look down.

of your prank

June 26, 2008

As pranksters go, there a few notables. A Frenchman by the name of Rémi Gaillard is one such kidder. His antics around town are caught on film and are worthy of inspired laughter. Be it scoring goals in unlikely places, training hard for the title bout or sneaking onto the pitch for a Montpellier Herault rugby union game; Mr. Gaillard has moxy. The French are funny.

of your difficult

June 2, 2008

Selling cars is quite the task these days and making a car worthy of today’s dollar is a difficult task, indeed. The new line of advertising for the Honda Accord aims to point out that “difficult is worth doing” by showcasing some heart-stopping aerial acrobatics. If Honda made planes, would people jump out of them?

of your docking

May 13, 2008

The Rules of Speed Docking are rather straight forward: a) remove a laptop and its power supply from a carrying case, b) connect the power along with an external monitor and keyboard, and c) power on the laptop in the least amount of time. The goal is complete when the laptop is ready to accept input. Mind your heads under those desks, folks.

The Red Bull Air Race World Series is an international series of air races whereby skilled airmen pilot through a challenging obstacle course. The successful participates get points relative to place with the top point earner taking the series. Adrenaline included.

team hoyt

If you find yourself in the last leg of your triathlon, pounding the pavement with labored breathing, and need a bit of inspiration to finish out; consider the actions of one man willing to literally go the extra mile for his son. 65-year-old Dick Hoyt ferries, pulls and pushes his 45-year-old, wheel-chair bound son across finish lines–the nation over–an exhausting number of times per year. “Can” is forever championed here.

If you like to run, then marathons could be considered a worthy goal. Some of the biggest can draw people from all over. Austin, Texas has just the answer to your long distance, “hoofin’ it” needs. A Boston Marathon qualifier, the AT&T Austin Marathon is quite the race. On your marks…

2008 Super Bowl Ads

Every year, on a particular Sunday, teams pit their skill and abilities against each other in one of the nation’s most demanding, televised events. Who will come out on top? Who will make the most memorable impact? You have but to watch and see. Oh, and there’s a football game that airs around all these promo spots too.

layer tennis coin flip

For the past 13 weeks, Coudal Partners’ Layer Tennis has absolutely ruined productivity levels in the advertising/design community. For good reason, of course. Since Week 4 (Hamid vs. Glass), a brave employee has donned the referee garb, stood before the camera and flipped a coin to determine who goes first. Thankfully, the good folks at CP have them all tidily collected on one page for your amusement. Heads or Tails?

the later years

They were your favorite sparring partners for only a quarter dollar entry fee. Go all the way to the championship and be the one true fighter in a sea of mixed disciplines. But where are they now? Guile, Chun Li, Ken? In this original series by CollegeHumor.com; we’re treated to the gang coming back together to have one last tournament. You can’t spell ‘Hadouken’ without ‘can’… er…
